Gas Module Installed on Troll C

A gas module is being installed on the Equinor-operated Troll C platform to accelerate production from the Fram license in the northern part of the North Sea offshore Norway.

The Fram field includes a number of reservoirs and is developed with Fram West and Fram East both with two four-slots templates each. Both are developed by two subsea templates tied back to Troll C.

The Fram well stream is transported by pipeline to Troll C for processing, and the oil is piped from there through the Troll II pipeline to Mongstad. The gas is exported through Troll A to Kollsnes.

The module was delivered from Aibel in Haugesund, Norway and was installed by the Heerema Marine Contractors heavy-lift vessel Thialf.

Hook-up and testing operations are underway ahead of scheduled startup later this year.

Equinor is operator of the Fram license. Its partners in the field are ExxonMobil, Neptune Energy and Idemitsu Petroleum.
