Equinor Cleared for Drilling Ops in Norwegian Sea

The Norwegian Offshore Directorate has granted Equinor a drilling permit for a wildcat well in the Norwegian Sea.

The permit is for wellbore 6507/8-D-4 CH in production license 124, which is operated by Equinor with 39.79% working interest.

Equinor’s partners in the license are ConocoPhillips Skandinavia (27.91%), Petoro (22.29%), and Vår Energi (10%).

The drilling operation will be conducted with Transocean’s Transocean Encourage semi-submersible drilling rig.
