JX Nippon signs Malaysian PSC

JX Nippon Oil & Gas Exploration Corp. entered into a production sharing contract (PSC) for deepwater block 2F offshore Sarawak with Petroliam Nasional Berhad (Petronas) effective September 19.

Deepwater block 2F is located in the northwest of Sarawak, with approximately 5500sq km surface area and 100-1200m water depth. JX Nippon holds 40% Participating Interest and will conduct exploration activity as the operator at Deepwater Block 2F. The block is JX Nippon's sixth project, and fourth project as operator, in Malaysia.

The company also operates both block SK10 and deepwater block R offshore Sabah.
