Martin Linge jacket installation

Watch as the 16,000-tonne steel jacket is installed on Total’s Martin Linge development located approximately 180km west of Bergen in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea.

The eight-legged jacket left the Verdal yard for the Martin Linge field on 3 June 2014 for installation in 115m water depth.

Oil and gas production is expected to start in 2016 with a capacity of 80,000boe/d.

The development of the project began in early 2012. It involves the construction of an integrated wellhead, production and accommodations platform. It is also designed to reduce environmental impacts and enhance safety. Gas from the field will be exported to the UK using the FUKA gas pipeline.

Total is the operator of the Martin Linge project and holds a 51% interest withpartners Petoro (30%) and Statoil (19%).
