Allseas’ dynamically positioned single-lift installation and decommissioning and pipelay vessel Pioneering Spirit is on its way to northeast England after setting a world offshore heavy lifting record on Friday, with the removal of Shell’s 24,200-ton Brent Delta platform topside. The vessel is now nearing Hartlepool, where the topside will be transferred to a barge, the Iron Lady, before being taken inshore to be skidded onto a quayside at Able Seaton Port.
