WorleyParsons has been awarded a contract by Reliance Industries for project management consultancy (PMC) services for development of the R-Series gas field (D34).
The field is in about 1800-2150m water depth, in Block KG-D6, about 70km off the east coast of India in the Krishna Godavari basin.

RIL and BP announced that they will award contracts to progress development of the ‘R-Series’ deepwater gas fields in Block KG-D6 back in June as subsea tiebacks to the existing control and riser platform in Block KG-D6.
The D34 project is a dry gas development. The project is expected to produce up to 12 MMcm (425 MMcf) of gas a day, coming on stream in 2020.
It is the first of three planned projects in Block KG-D6, producing from about 3 Tcf of discovered gas resources, RIL and partner BP said in June. At the time, the parters said they plan to submit development plans for the next two projects before the end of 2017.
Development of the three projects, with total investment of US$6 billion, is expected to bring a total c. 30-35 MMcm (1 Bcf) of gas a day new domestic gas production onstream, phased over 2020-2022.
