Equinor Awards Brazil Gig to Prosafe

Norwegian multinational energy company Equinor said that its subsidiary Equinor Brasil Energia has awarded a contract to the offshore accommodation specialist Prosafe for the Safe Concordia.

As per the contract, Safe Concordia, a dynamically positoned (DP2) semi-submersible accommodation vessel with beds for 461 persons to provide gangway connected operations supporting maintenance and safety services at the Peregrino floating production, storage and offloading unit (FPSO) in the Campos Basin offshore Brazil.

According to a press release from Prosafe, the contract is scheduled to commence mid-January 2020, and is for a periods of 120 days with options for up to 60 days.

The Safe Concordia pioneered gangway connection to turret moored FPSOs having developed the concept in 2012, and has subsequently provided reliable and safe operations maintaining high connectivity to a large number of installations, according to Prosafe.
