Upon the terms of agreement, BOD has an option for construction of two additional Gusto MSC CJ 50 high specification rigs of similar design. The rigs are scheduled for delivery in 1Q and 3Q 2017, respectively, from the SWS shipyard located in Shanghai, China.

Both rigs will be equipped with NOV drilling, well control and mud systems, in addition to an enhanced power package that uses Caterpillar engines to deliver increased power of approximately 600kW over the majority of today’s new-build fleet designs. The rigs will also come with dual mud systems and expanded accommodations for 150 persons, up from standard design of 120. These high specification jackups are designed to comply with the regulatory requirements in the UK sector of the North Sea, as well as for high specification operations worldwide.

With this order, BOD now has four high specification Gusto MSC jackup drilling rigs under construction. These two contracts were executed in relation to the option agreements entered into by BOD in early 2014 at the same time BOD executed contracts with SWS for the construction of two Gusto MSC CJ 46 premium jackup units scheduled for delivery in 2Q and 4Q 2016, respectively.
