Chevron shows several new updates and project milestones for its Gorgon project, which is 90% complete as of 30 January.

Gorgon is located between 130-220km off the northwest coast of Western Australia. The project aims to develop the Gorgon and Jansz-Io gas fields, including the construction of a 15.6 million-tonne of LNG per year plant on Barrow Island, in addition to a domestic natural gas plant and a carbon sequestration project.

The company says that Gorgon is one of the world's largest natural gas projects and the largest single resource development in Australia's history.

Chevron owns a 47.3% interest in Gorgon with joint venture ExxonMobil (25%), Shell (25%), Osaka Gas (1.25%), Tokyo Gas (1%) and Chubu Electric Power (0.417%).
