TGS extends Polarcus Adira lease

Published

Norway's TGS-NOPEC has agreed to take up a contract option with Polarcus, extending its lease of the Polarcus Adira for an additional two months, folloing on from its existing three-month contract.

The vessel has already started the contract, offshore Norway, for TGS-NOPEC. The original contract was for 3000sq km of 3D seismic data, with the potential extension to up to a total 7000sq km.

The vessel is currently operating in the Barents sea southeast, off the far north coast of Norway. The contract extension will see it move to the Norwegian Barents Sea.

Polarcus took delivery of the Polarcus Adira in June 2012. It was then the firm's eighth 3D seismic vessel. Polarcus Adira was built at Ulstein Verft in Norway.
