The 21-day survey will be conduced with CGG’s Amadeus research and survey vessel.

The PSC represents Mitra's first venture into frontier deepwater exploration in Vietnam and will fulfill the company’s PSC Exploration Phase One extension 3D seismic survey acquisition commitment of 500 full-fold sq km, Mitra said.

Block 127 activities are focused on the unexplored deepwater, eastern half of the block. Mitra velieve there is significant hydrocarbon potential in the area, associated with a thick, Tertiary age sedimentary section.

In 2012, 4015 full-fold sq km of 2D seismic data was acquired.

The seismic commitment was fulfilled when a total of 4,015 full fold line km of 2D seismic data were acquired during 2012.

According to Mitra, pre-stack time migration processing of the 2D seismic data was completed in February 2013 and resulted in the identification of three prospects and six leads with a combined gross unrisked prospective resources of 1.3 billion boe (Pmean) to 3 billion boe (P10).

Mitra operates the PSC with 100% interest.
