AccessESP, a leading provider of rigless electric submersible pump (ESP) conveyance solutions, appointed Anwar Assal as Middle East and North Africa region manager.

Based in Dubai, Assal will be responsible for developing and enhancing new and existing AccessESP relationships across the region.

With 20 years of well completions experience —15 years with Schlumberger and five years with Baker Hughes—Assal has extensive engineering and operational knowledge of completions technology, products, equipment, procedures and practices, and has experience working in global markets including Africa, Europe and Asia.

Assal graduated from Cairo University in Egypt with a Bachelor of Science in petroleum engineering. Between 2008 and 2012, Assal filed nine US patent applications, and has received numerous completions awards from Schlumberger during his time with the company.

“We welcome Anwar as the newest addition to our international team of region managers,” said David Malone, AccessESP president and CEO. “In his new position, Anwar will be instrumental in helping us to define specific markets so that we can best serve our customers in the Middles East and North Africa regions as we amplify our distribution of reliable, alternative ESP solutions and continue to build momentum in an ever-evolving market.”
