Quadrant starts at Phoenix South-2

Published

Quadrant Energy has spudded the Phoenix South-2 well within the WA-435-P exploration permit in the North West Shelf of Australia.

Joint venture partner Carnarvon Petroleum said the well has been drilled down to approximately 1500m depth, and is currently setting the 508mm casing.

Once the casing has been set and cemented in place, the well will start drilling the 445mm hole.

The rig is expected to take between two to three weeks to complete the drilling of the hole down to a depth of approximately 3500m before running the 346mm intermediate casing.

No reservoir objectives are anticipated to be intersected in this hole section.

Quadrant holds 80% interest in WA-435-P, while Carnarvon has the remaining 20% stake.
