Rosneft: Kara Sea field reserves confirmed

Russian authorities confirmed the reserves in the Pobeda oil and gas field, located on the Kara Sea shelf, Rosneft announced.

The field was discovered through the Universitetskaya-1 well. The gas reserves were discovered in the chalk deposits of Cenomanian Age and Apt-Alb Age. Oil reserves were discovered in Jurassic sediments.

The commission accepted the discovery and advised FSI RPE Rosgeolfond to register the field as having recoverable reserves of 130 million tons of oil and 499Bcm of gas.
