Subsea Innovation said it has won a contract win with TechnipFMC in Norway for the supply and installation support of subsea protection equipment.

In 2018 Subsea Innovation engineered next-generation seal for their Pipe in Pipe Waterstops, designed and developed from its head office in Darlington, UK.

Waterstop Seals provide a solution for isolating a section of flooded annulus in offshore risers or flowlines by preventing water passage to the adjacent Pipe-In-Pipe sections during installation and normal operation. The new design addresses potential challenges experienced with High Frequency Welded (HFW) pipes and seam welded pipes being introduced within the industry as part of cost-saving measures.

Subsea Innovation, part of Tekmar Group, claims to be one of the only suppliers in the world to have successfully tested Waterstop seals with a proven recorded on HFW and seam welded pipes. HFW or seam welded pipes often require localized polishing to improve the sealing ability; whereas Subsea Innovation’s next-generation SIStop Waterstop Seal eliminates the need for this, sealing on pipes with greater surface defects and impurities.
