Lee Wilson has joined remotely operated underwater vehicle (ROV) services provider ROVOP as Head of Technology.

In the newly created role, Wilson will lead ROVOP's technology development in line with key client drivers such as cost optimization, digital transformation and enhanced HSEQ performance, the company said in a press release on Tuesday. He will also oversee all business applications and IT aspects of the company.

ROVOP said Wilson will be accountable for maximizing the synergies between business infrastructure and operational technology. This will, for example, enable the use of operational data and advanced analytics to support business decisions via the company’s integrated management system.

Wilson, who has an engineering background in subsea robotics, joins ROVOP from Subsea 7 where, as ROV and Autonomy Program Manager, he led several remote technology programs including the development of an autonomous inspection vehicle.
