Conwy connection

Published

HSM Offshore’s Schiedam yard in the Netherlands recently completed a wellhead platform for UK independent EOG Resources’ Conwy field in Irish Sea block 110/12. The topsides weight was 850t, the jacket 690t and the piles 700t. HSM started platform engineering in December 2010 and fabrication in May 2011.

A 270t hang-off module for EOG, also built by HSM, will be installed this July on the Douglas platform, about 12km away from Conwy (OE September 2011). The hang-off module helps reduce the brownfield scope on Douglas and will house much of the reception and processing equipment for Conwy’s fluids, including an hydraulic power unit, produced water plant, degasser drum, hydrocyclones, pig trap and various pumps and meters, all sourced by HSM under a separate procurement contract. The Matador 3 sheerleg crane vessel will be deployed to install both the platform and the hang-off module.

HSM is currently working on the Claymore compression module for Talisman. The 1200t module will be installed in spring 2013. It also has a contract from Total E&P Netherlands for a K4-Z hang-off module and transportable tanks access platform weighing 50t for completion in August 2012 to be installed on K5-FA in the Dutch sector.
