This marks the first platform to be placed in the GoM using the float over method, suitable for shallow waters. The platform is expected to accelerate the production of oil and gas.

The CA-Litoral-A has the capacity to process 200,000bbl and 600MMcf/d of natural gas from various producing fields in the southwest region off Mexico.

The platform was built by Dragados Offshore de Mexico and is 53m in height and weighs more than 14,000-tonne.

Pemex’s Tsimin-Xux project reduced the discovery-production time by 50% from seven years to three and a half years. It came online with a production rate of 100,000b/d, five months before planned.
