Published

Maersk Oil has has decided to plug and abandon exploration well 6406/6-4 on the Tvillingen South prospect after difficulties in a liner setting covering the intermediate part of the well.

The semisubmersible drilling rig, Leiv Eiriksson, will move on to Total's well Skirne in PL 627.

Partner North Energy said the license partners in PL 510, containing Tvillingen, would now evaluate new options for the license work program, including a potential redrill of the Tvillingen South prospect.

Tvillingen is on the Haltenbanken in the Norwegian Sea, approximately 28 km southeast of the Kristin field.

Partners in PL 510 are Maersk Oil Norway (operator with 50%), Edison Niorge AS (30%) and North Energy (20%).
