Peak extends SIMPLUS plug range

Published

Peak Well Systems announced that it has extended its range of ISO 14310:2008 V3 validation grade SIMPLUS plugs with the addition of a 7in retrievable bridge plug to cover 23# - 26# tube casing.

Testing of the new product was completed at Peak’s testing facilities in Perth, Australia and, as with all of Peak’s ISO validated plugs, was independently witnessed by third-party certifying authority, Det Norske Veritas.

The SIMPLUS retrievable bridge plug is an expandable barrier that creates a downhole seal in fluid and temperature cycling environments. The key challenge in developing this product was to engineer a new seal element that would provide the expansion required in order to reliably seal in larger diameter light weight tubing whilst maintaining the low setting forces common to the rest of the SIMPLUS range. The 7in SIMPLUS plug was also re-designed to accommodate this new sealing element and a conversion kit is available for existing plugs.
