Statoil, CCB ink double jackup contract

Statoil awarded Coast Center Base (CCB) a contract for the reception and preparation of the two new category J rigs for Statoil: Boots and the Cinderella. 

The rigs are being built at the Samsung Heavy Industries shipyard in South Korea and are expected to the delivered in Q2 2017.

The new category J rigs will be able to operate in water depths of 70-150m and drill wells down to 10,000m. These are tailor-made jackup rigs for operations in harsh environments for wells in shallow waters on the Norwegian shelf. The rigs will be capable of drilling and completion of both surface and subsea production wells.
