Statoil has been given the green light to drill a well on the Mim prospect in the Norwegian Sea using the Deepsea Bergen drilling facility.

Well 6507/3-12 A on Mim is in production license 159 B in block 6507/3, about 11km southwest of the Norne field.

PL 159 was awarded in licensing round 12 Part B on the Norwegian shelf, and production license 159 B was carved out on 13 August 2004.

The permit is contingent upon the operator securing all other permits and consents required by other authorities prior to starting drilling activity.

Statoil is the operator with 85% interest. Partner Dong E&P Norge holds the remaining 15%.
