Russian's Lukoil says its Phase 2 Vladimir Filanovsky LSP-2 ice-resistant topsides have set sail for the Caspian Sea. Production from the project is due at the end of this year.
Phase 2 of Vladimir Filanovsky field development provides for the construction of a fixed ice-resistant platform, an accommodation-topside platform and a crossover between the platforms, all being built at Astrakhan’s shipyards.
A tugboat caravan will tow the topside, weighing more than 7000-tonne, to the Caspian Sea. The substructures for the facility were installed in the summer of 2016.
The Vladimir Filanovsky field Phase 1 came on stream in 2016. Lukoil says it has 129 million tonnes of oil and 30 Bcm of gas recoverable reserves. The designed annual production rate is 6 million tonnes of oil.
All the offshore facilities at Lukoil's Caspian fields were manufactured at shipyards in Russia.
