Lundin gets Alta appraisal approval

Norway’s Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) has granted Lundin consent to drill the exploration well 7220/11-4 in a prospect named Alta, in Block 7220 in the Barents Sea.

Lundin is the operator for production license 609 in the Barents Sea.

Drilling is scheduled to begin in May 2017 and will last 65 days. Possible well testing will be in addition. Water depth at the site is 402m.

The well will be drilled by the Leiv Eiriksson semisubmersible drilling facility of the BINGO 9000 type, owned and operated by Ocean Rig.
