Israel’s Minister of Energy has granted Noble Energy and Delek Drilling an extension for the Alon D license, offshore Israel, following an appeal from the partners.
The duo has been given a 32-month extension.
The partners had filed an appeal on 25 February, following a denied approval from authorities. The Alon D license expired on 1 March 2016.
The partners are set to carry out an environmental survey within 18 months, in order to adapt the terms of the ongoing license to the standards acceptable in 2017.
The partners will ratify again their commitment to drilling, within a reasonable time in the circumstances, from the moment that the go ahead is given to carry out drilling.
Partners in the Alon D License are Delek Drilling with 52.941%, and Noble Energy Mediterranean with the remaining 47.059%.
