Petrobras began production from its P-62 platform at the Roncador field, in the Campos Basin, off Brazil, the company announced on 12 May.

The 111sq km Roncador field is located in a water depth of 1800m and is divided into four modules with differing API densities.

Petrobras says that the P-62 FPSO can process 180,000bo/d and 6 million cu m/day of natural gas. It is planned to be tied into 22 wells, 14 producers and eight injectors. It is situated in 1600m of water.

Construction was completed on the platform in late December 2013 at the Atlântico Sul shipyard, located in Ipojuca, state of Pernanbuco, Brazil.

The 60,500-tonne P-62 will operate alongside the P-52P-54 and P-55 platforms, already installed in Roncador. MODEC’s turret-moored FSO Cidade de Macae MV15, with a capacity of 2.15MMbo, will export production from the P-62, P-52, and P-55 platforms, along with P-53, from the Marlim Leste field, and P-51 from Marlim Sul.
