Tenaris and TechnipFMC teamed up to take on Total’s Moho Nord project, offshore the Republic of Congo.

Tenaris provided TechnipFMC with a complete package of offshore line pipe solutions, including rigid flowlines, jumpers and spools, bending solutions, taper joints and buckle arrestors and coating systems with the support of a coating sub-supplier.
“This project is amongst the most complex SURF (subsea, umbilicals, risers & flowlines) projects Tenaris has ever executed and a landmark in many aspects. We are honored to have worked alongside TechnipFMC and Total to complete this milestone in West Africa,” said Mariano Armengol, Tenaris pipeline services business unit director.
Total’s Moho Nord project is a deepwater exploration and production development, about 46mi off the city of Pointe-Noire in the Republic of the Congo, at 3937ft water depth.
With expected production of 100,000 b/d, this investment is the largest oil project ever undertaken in the Republic of the Congo.
The Moho Nord field is developed through 34 wells tied back to a new tension leg platform and a FPSO. It started production in March 2017.
