Prelude float out

Published

Shell’s Prelude floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) facility floated out of the dry dock at Geoje, South Korea’s Samsung Heavy Industries yard, where the facility is currently under construction.

Upon completion, Prelude FLNG will be the largest-ever floating facility, and is set to produce approximately 3.6MM tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) annually.

Prelude FLNG is the first deployment of Shell’s FLNG technology and will operate in a remote basin about 475km northeast of Broome, Western Australia for around 25 years.
