Subsea engineering and project management company Petrex Developments has successfully completed the inspection of the BW Athena dynamic flexible riser/umbilical systems, FPSO mooring system and hull for North Sea operator Ithaca Energy.

The BW Athena flexible riser system consists of three flexible risers, two dynamic umbilicals, a mid-water arch (MWA) with associated tethers and MWA base.

The inspection involved general visual inspection (GVI), close visual inspection (CVI) and taking cathodic protection measurements of the riser system and ancillary equipment. A similar scope of work was carried out on the nine leg FPSO mooring system, suction anchor, mooring chain, ball grab assembly, wire sections and STP buoy connectors and a full hull survey.

Petrex Developments successfully delivered the project safely, on time and on budget.
