CNOOC's Weizhou 12-2 phase II project started production, the company announced today (28 November).

The Weizhou 12-2 phase II project is in Beibu Gulf in the South China Sea with an average water depth of approximately 35.7m. The project uses existing Weizhou 12-2 oil field facilities and includes one wellhead platform. There are seven wells currently producing approximately 6400 bo/d. The project is expected to reach its designed peak production of approximately 11,800 bo/d in 2018, according to CNOOC.

CNOOC operates the Weizhou 12-2 oil field phase II project with 100% interest.
