Denmark-based Swire Blue Ocean (SBO) has appointed Matt Bowden as the new Area Manager in Taiwan with the aim to strengthen its local business presence.

SBO, which designs and develops vessels used for the installation of offshore wind turbines and foundations, said that Bowden is based in Taipei and will act as the key representative for SBO in Taiwan, providing strategic leadership in business development, sales & marketing and operations both locally and in other East Asian markets.

He has previously worked for the Swire Group in various commercial and operations-related roles in China, Hong Kong and India.

“The strategic decision to have a dedicated person driving SBO’s business in Taiwan cements our long term commitment to the expansion of our business operations both in Taiwan and in the broader region,” says Chief Executive Officer, SBO, Mikkel Gleerup.

With our operational experience and a strong track record in the renewables sector, SBO will harness our strengths and we plan to access the diverse range of vessels in the Swire Pacific Offshore (SPO) fleet to contribute positively to the development of the fast expanding offshore wind industry in Taiwan,” Mikkel added.

Headquartered in Copenhagen, SBO owns and operates two Windfarm Installation Vessels (WIVs) and is a fully owned subsidiary of Swire Pacific Offshore Operations (Pte) Ltd (SPO).
