Lars Christian Bacher (pictured) has been appointed Statoil’s EVP development and production international and will take up the post on 1 September. He will succeed Peter Mellbye who is retiring after 30 years with the company. Bacher, a former platform manager at the Norne and Statfjord fields, VP for Gullfaks operations and SVP for the Tampen area, has been the Norwegian operator’s SVP for Canada since 2009.
