OTC.13: Trelleborg exhibits sealing materials range

StepSealProductAfter comprehensive third-party testing, Trelleborg Sealing Solutions now has 20 best-in-class materials qualified to stringent API and ISO specifications. The wide range of approved compounds, from elastomers to PEEK and PTFE based compounds, means Trelleborg offers more sealing or bearing solutions for demanding oilfield conditions than any other company.

Trelleborg Sealing Solutions extensive range of innovative seal materials and ongoing material development help it meet industry-recognized standards that require all subcomponents of oilfield equipment be approved to stated specifications. Individual seal materials are rigorously tested and approved, both in-house and through respected third parties, based on criteria such as Explosive Decompression Resistance (EDR), sour and sweet gas aging, compression set tests, and material properties.

“In today’s oilfield market, quality and safety are paramount. Simply saying you produce quality product is insufficient, and claims must be reinforced with experience, compliance to industry standards, and proven performance,” says Eric Bucci, Segment Manager Oil & Gas Americas with Trelleborg Sealing Solutions. “Complying with international industry standards is critical to satisfying customer requirements and demonstrates Trelleborg’s commitment to providing class-leading sealing solutions.”

The 20 API 6A and ISO 10423 approved materials are each specifically designed to meet differing operating conditions in terms of media resistance, life expectation, friction and wear requirements. The range includes best-in-class fluoroelastomers (FKM), Isolast® perfluoroelastomers (FFKM), polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) based Turcon®, TFM and polyether ether ketone (PEEK).

Trelleborg also has a range of 21 best-in-class materials qualified to all elements of the stringent NORSOK M-710 specification.
