Middle East expansion for Archer

Oilfield services firm Archer is expanding its coverage in the eastern hemisphere region with the opening of a support office in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE), a downhole tool repair center in Jebel Ali, UAE and a country office in Doha, Qatar.

The Dubai office will act as a central hub for carrying out work with existing and potential customers across the eastern hemisphere, more specifically in Africa, Middle East and South-East Asia.

Archer already employs more than 150 people in the region and says the office will add management, technical support and customer care to the main existing operational bases of New Plymouth, Perth, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Abu Dhabi.

The company also opened a state of the art downhole tools repair center for its wireline and oiltools businesses located in Jebel Ali, UAE.

Olivier Muller, president of emerging markets and technologies, Archer, says: “In recent years we have witnessed an increased interest in our range of well integrity and well intervention focused products and services throughout the eastern hemisphere and anticipate this region to be a major growth area for us.”

“We recently completed our first job with our Cflex cementing technology in West Africa while interest in our Point series of leak detection technologies and our LOCK series of well suspension plugs is also gathering pace.”

Archer specializes in well integrity and intervention products and services, unconventionals and production drilling. The company employs more than 8,300 personnel through 118 global locations, with key regional bases in the North Sea, Middle East, Asia, North and Latin America.
