Technip gets Zakum field work

Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company (ADMA-OPCO) has selected Technip for project management consultancy services on the Zakum field, offshore Abu Dhabi

The contract will cover the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) phases of the Zakum Oil Lines Replacement Project-Phase 1 (ZKOL).

The ZKOL project will replace aged oil pipelines in the Zakum field, to help sustain oil production. The first phase of the project will involve the replacement of about 90km of oil pipelines and associated wellhead tower modification work.

Technip’s scope of work covers the overall management consultancy of the EPC phases. The firm's operating center in Abu Dhabi, UAE, will carry out the project, which is scheduled to complete in 2016.

Vaseem Khan, Senior Vice President of Technip in the Middle East, commented: “This award follows the successful conceptual and front-end engineering design delivered by Technip in 2012 for the Zakum field."
