TrustLube provides automatic lubrication system for Prelude

Published

SBM Offshore is using the TrustLube automatic lubrication system for Shell’s Prelude.

According to TrustLube, its system consists of an explosion-proof grease cabinet to lubricate the radial wheel, axial boogie and axial boogie guiding of the world’s largest turret. Stainless steel framed grease applicators are used to connect the metering devices to dispense the grease equally on the wheel surfaces. TrustLube’s is able to adapt its greasing cycle to the wind direction.

The company says that the TrustLube system uses one metering unit per grease point. All metering units are working independently of each other regardless temperature, tube length and viscosity of the lubricant. The quantity of grease remains consistent regardless outside temperature and pump running time. The system is completely hermetically sealed. No dirt, seawater or sand can enter the system. The complete system is constructed in stainless steel AISI 316 quality.

The TrustLube system was completely engineered and produced at the Oud Gastel location in The Netherlands.
