Oilfield services group ASCO's CEO and chairman are leaving the business, the company revealed today by announcing it had appointed Alan Brown as its new CEO.
The firm has appointed former business services firm Rentokil Initial CEO Alan Brown as its new CEO, replacing Derek Smith, who was leaving to pursue other opportunities, said ASCO.
Over the last three years, ASCO has grown from a company principally focused on the UK North Sea to one with an international footprint, with operations in North America, the Middle East & Africa and Australia, with more than 2000 staff.
Brown has worked at multi-national consumer goods firm Unilever, chemicals firm ICI and most recently Rentokil Initial, which provides a range of services from pest control to workwear.
During his tenure, Smith was closely involved with the growth of ASCO and the winning of a number of ground breaking contracts, including ASCO’s multi-year Tanzanian supply base support contract.
Billy Allan, ASCO’s Chairman and former CEO, is credited with being instrumental in turning round ASCO’s fortunes when he was appointed CEO in 2006.
