Lloyd's expands capabilities in T&T

To meet the growing demands by operators for greater operational efficiency and public confidence in the integrity of offshore and onshore oil and gas structures, Lloyd’s Register Energy is increasing its structural engineering capabilities to support operators involved in the exploration of Trinidad and Tobago’s oil and gas acreage.

“Asset integrity management is fast becoming a requirement in Trinidad and Tobago, as companies working in upstream, midstream and downstream are realizing the benefits of a proactive approach to risk reduction strategies and ensuring engineering integrity as a whole. They’re actively looking for ways to extend the life of their assets safely and cost effectively,” said Steve Masson, Lloyd's asset integrity services operations manager for Trinidad & Tobago.

Lloyd’s has recently won a contract in the country where it will provide integrity engineering support on offshore projects for a leading operator; delivering risk reduction strategies, engineering integrity, design and safe operation.

The company is increasing the provision of its leading asset management (ISO55001:2014) capability across upstream, midstream and downstream sectors, including its pipeline integrity management, pressure systems integrity consultancy, Turn-A-Round support and corrosion engineering support. In addition, its technical expertise is being expanded to cover fitness for service, root cause failure analysis, risk-based inspection and NACE/API inspections.

Globally, Lloyd’s has experience in managing the structural integrity of subsea, topside, floating and onshore structures in line with legislation governing UK offshore installations which are used as a ‘recognized’ benchmark, as well as local country requirements, to ensure all structural integrity practices are compliant and safe.
