James Fisher and Sons completed the acquisition of Mojo Maritime Ltd. (MML), a specialist provider of project management, engineering and consultancy services to the offshore industry renewable energy sector.

Founded in Falmouth 10 years ago by Richard Parkinson CEO, the company has focused on consultancy services, marine operations, engineering and research and development. It has been involved in foundation design, installation methodology and project planning as well as design and development of products aimed at reducing risk and cost of working offshore, some of which have been protected. These include: a high performance dynamic positioning vessel concept for offshore energy construction and maintenance (HF4); specialist economic and risk evaluation software (Mermaid); cable routing and stability analysis software (Cast); and collaboration with leading Norwegian manufacturer IKM Subsea to develop a ROV capable of operating in high tidal flows.

James Fisher said the acquisition of Mojo will strengthen our expertise and abilities in servicing the offshore renewables sector.

MML has successfully co-operated on a number of projects with group companies to date and currently has a sub-contract with James Fisher Marine Services (JFMS) under which MML and JFMS are working closely together on the construction phase of the MeyGen Inner Sound tidal project.
