Polar Empress operates in Barents

Dolphin Geophysical has announced that the 3D seismic vessel, Polar Empress, is in full production towing 14 streamers on the Maud Extension multi-client survey in the Barents Sea. 

The Polar Empress has a capacity to operate up to 22 seismic streamers, a total installed engine capacity of 22,800 KW, a bollard pull in excess of 249-tonne and a top transit speed in excess of 20 knots. Polar Empress is equipped with Schlumberger's Q Marine single sensor systems, coupled with Dolphin's towing and handling solutions, says Atle Jacobsen, Dolphin's CEO.

At the end of June, following the completion of the current contract, Polar Empress will again be mobilized for a contract with duration in excess of three months.
