Heerema Zwijndrecht secures Oranje-Nassau Energie contract

Published

Heerema Zwijndrecht, one of the yards of Heerema Fabrication Group (HFG), has secured a contract from Oranje-Nassau Energie for the procurement and construction of a topside and jacket. It concerns an unmanned and sustainable satellite platform for the P11-E field, located near the Dutch coast.

The platform is unmanned and will be operated from a central station on the Dutch coast. There is a helideck in the event of maintenance or an emergency to reach the platform quickly. In addition, the topside is self-sufficient regarding electricity generation thanks to solar panels and wind turbines.

The topside will measure 31m x 25m, has a height of 13m and will weigh 500-tonne. The jacket will have a height of 49m with a foot print of 20m x 20m and a weight of approximately 1000-tonne. Special to the jacket is that the main risers go through the main legs. The project has a challenging schedule. The first cut of steel is scheduled for 1 September 2015 and ready for sail away end April 2016.

The P11-E platform is a natural gas processing offshore facility and will treat the gas feed from the P11-E field on the Dutch continental shelf. The P11-E field is located 55km northwest off the Rotterdam harbor.
