Strategic Corrosion Management releases new systems

Published

Strategic Corrosion Management (SCM) launched new systems to support improved tracking and management of integrity and corrosion anomalies for both on and offshore assets, supporting safety, productivity and cost management targets.

An anomaly management module has been created for SCM’s, cloud-based 360integrity toolset, Risk, Integrity and Strategic Corrosion Management (RISCm), which delivers the ability to analyze, track and monitor inspection anomalies more consistently and effectively than previously possible. The module stores specific corrosion and integrity anomaly details, with the added ability to attach existing, associated records from RISCm’s component, corrosion and fabric modules.

The technology is supported by an expansion to SCM’s range of SafeMark pipe markers to include integrity anomaly markers, which enable plant engineers to physically and visually reconcile plant condition and anomaly status in their current integrity toolset or through RISCm. The end result is a direct, visual and documented link between the physical inspection point and a corrosion damage report or inspection anomaly report.

The SafeMark pipe content marker range is designed for both pipework and large diameter cables to replace the outdated painted-on and taped-on markers that often require maintenance, have a high individual cost and exacerbate corrosion.

Integrity management (IM) anomaly markers are reusable, and features QR-code technology, which can be scanned and link directly into RISCm. They also feature a text box that enables integrity details to be written on the marker, or added through the addition of a printed weatherproof label, to provide the most up to date status of pipe anomalies for future inspections of any concerned personnel.

The IM anomaly markers employ a ‘traffic light’ system highlighting pipe status, with a set of three color coded markers, red, amber and green aiding prioritization of monitoring, repair or maintenance.

SCM’s markers support health and safety regulatory compliance. Being specially formed from a ‘memory retaining’ material, printed on its inner surface with color coding, text, identification codes and individual notes if required, they are both UV resistant and for temperatures up to 80˚C.
