Dutch offshore lifting and drilling solutions provider Huisman has begun the landfill works for a 15,000m2 production facility in southern Brazil alongside the Itajai-Açu river in Navegantes, Santa Catarina state. It is expected to be operational in 2Q 2013. Subsequent investment plans include construction of a 200m long quayside with an artificial bay to protect against the river’s high currents and allow fast access to the new facility for seagoing vessels needing to install, commission and test Huisman systems and equipment onboard.
