Eric Cayeux (pictured), chief scientist, drilling & well modeling, at the International Research Institute of Stavanger (Iris), is the 2012 recipient of Statoil’s research prize which comes with NKr200,000 and a Håkon Bleken lithograph. The judges cited Cayeux’s pivotal role in a number of automated drilling advancements, including the development of Drillscene, Drilltronics and Virtual Rig.
