Houston-based Black Elk Energy and Oilfield Helping Hands organized a fundraiser for six families affected by the accident at the company’s West Delta 32 platform last November. The sporting event, held in Maurice, Louisiana, raised US $130,000 to benefit a higher education fund established for children of the victims. Sponsors of the event included GOL Shooting Range, Grand Isle Shipyard, Phoenix Offshore Solutions, and SEMPCheck.
