Subsea Index creates business opportunities in English and Portuguese with high quality, business relevant data on subsea companies and organizations.
The Brazilian companies União Engenharia and CP+ were among the first to register in the new Subsea Index, a bilingual database set up to facilitate the search for business partners, suppliers or customers in the subsea industry.
The bilingual Subsea Index was launched at the Anchieta Palace in Vítoria, Brazil in September 2012, and to date close to 300 companies have registered in the service, created by the Norwegian business cluster NCE Subsea. Salvador V. A. Turco, president of União Engenharia was present at Anchieta Palace, and among the first to register his company in the database. União Engenharia provides subsea equipment, tanks, pressure vessels and pipelines.
”Our ambition is definitely to search for new business opportunities as well as improvements in our productions. In a growing market, it is very important to aggregate technology,” Salvador V. A. Turco, President of União Engenharia says.
CP+, a company performing environmental studies at sea and offshore survey and monitoring, was also among the very first Brazilian entries in the Subsea Index. CP+ operates in the oil and gas sector, as well as in the mining, ports and energy sectors, among others.
“CP+ is an international company with offices in Brazil and in the United States, but we have never had any relations to the European market or European companies. This was one of the main reasons we decided register right away,” says chief commercial officer Érik Fabian Cunha. – We are always looking for new partnership, not only abroad, but also with international partners already established in Brazil, he adds.
To Mr. Cunha, the support of the state government of Espirito Santo has also been of great importance throughout the process.
“Our headquarters in Brazil is located in the stat of Espirito Santo, and the support of the state government in the development of the Subsea Index was another important reason we joined. We wanted to contribute by showing the expertise and capacity of Brazilian companies,” he says.
Connecting down under
NCE Subsea promotes collaboration between the world’s leading subsea environments, and consequently connects to organizations in the global subsea hubs and markets.
“We keep connecting to the most attractive organizations in the world in order to connect subsea related companies, R&D, and educational institutions in the largest offshore markets in the world,” says Trond Olsen, CEO of NCE Subsea.
In February 2013 Subsea Energy Australia officially became a Subsea Index Partner, and their members are invited to register in the bilingual database. “Similarly, in 2012 three Brazilian organizations became Subsea Index partners,” says Mr. Olsen. The Brazilian Subsea Index partners are Federação das Indústrias do Estado de São Paulo (FIESP), Organização Nacional da Indústria do Petróleo (ONIP) and Associação Comercial e Industrial de Macaé (ACIM)/Macaé City Hall.
