The inaugural edition of the relaunched Offshore Engineer magazine is now available, in print and online.

Inside the January/February issue you'll find insight on the technologies and projects driving the offshore energy industry, including:

FLNG
The FLNG Prelude has arguably been one of the most scrutinized floating production projects. Initially criticized for being larger than the rest, Prelude should now benefit from its scale and choice of production turret, as William Stoichevski, Offshore Engineer’s editor in Oslo, discovered.

FPSO
Offshore Engineer’s Brazilian correspondent Claudio Paschoa does a deep dive on state-owned oil giant Petrobras, complete with inside analysis on the major FPSO player’s fleet specifications, production expectations and operational challenges.

Abandonment and Decommissioning
New solutions which could break the plugging and abandonment mold are making their presence felt on the Norwegian Continental Shelf. Elaine Maslin reports.

Production Operations: Inspection, Maintenance and Repair
Keeping operations humming on BP's Mad Dog oil production spar, which has an integrated drilling rig, requires a lot of planning, writes Offshore Engineer’s editor in Houston Jennifer Pallanich.

Subsea Technologies
Offshore Engineer Looks at the next generation of subsea tree technology, from TechnipFMC’s Subsea 2.0 to BHGE’s Subsea Connect, and how many of the newest products are increasingly packaged together. An activity forecast for the next few years give readers a view on the shape of the offshore recovery.

Downhole Data: Sensors, Fiber Optic, Wired Pipe
Offshore drillers increasingly rely on existing and new downhole data technologies to make real-time decisions and keep operations safe, writes Jennifer Pallanich.

Special Report: Automation - Visualization, Design, Modelling
Subsea imaging has come a long way. Elaine Maslin reports on some of the latest technologies.

Regional Report: Asia Pacific
