Repeated boughts of bad weather around the UK have caused disruption to offshore oil and gas operations in the North Sea.
Endeavour International Corporationsaid today that, due to the continued periods of bad weather, timing of first production from second production well, E2, on the Rochelle development has been delayed from end of December to the second week of January.
The first well,W1, came online in October last year and is producing at65–70MM cu ft of gas per day (gross), with an additional 2500-3000 boe/d of liquids production, amounting to 6000–7000 boe/d net to Endeavour's working interest in the field.
The Skandi Achiever, the vessel handling the final hook-up of the Xmas tree to the East Rochelle manifold, is prepared to finish the installation, in order to start production on E2, as soon as the weather window opens.
On completion of the hook-up, the E2 well will start production. Combined production on E2 and W1 is expected to exceed capacity limits allowed over the Scott platform, in which both wells tie-in to. Scott is operated by Nexen.
Endeavour has a 44% working interest in the Rochelle field, which is in blocks 15/26b, 15/26c and 15/27 in the central North Sea.
Atlantic Petroleum said Chestnut field production was also affected by the adverse weather during December.
