Oil & Gas UK today published its UK Offshore Oil and Gas Fabricators Directory, providing a showcase for British construction yards which design and build major facilities for both domestic and international energy markets.

The 80-page handbook contains comprehensive and independently verified information about 12 fabricator companies operating from 18 locations across the country.

“One of Oil & Gas UK’s key strategic priorities is to ensure a long term future for the UK industry supply chain and the fabrication sector is an important part of this,” Oonagh Werngren, Oil & Gas UK’s operations director, said. “Our indigenous fabricators have the capacity to design and fabricate most aspects of offshore installations such as jackets, decks, modules, subsea manifolds and pipeline bundles. As a result of the investment in major projects on the UK Continental Shelf (UKCS) in 2013, there is currently significant demand for fabrication services, especially those associated with fields developed as subsea tiebacks to existing production platforms.”

The publication of the directory aligns with the UK Government’s 2013 Industrial Strategy for Oil and Gas, which is to support the growth of the UK supply chain.
