Anadarko Petroleum today (20 June) said it had completed the evacuation of all non-essential personnel from its Gulf of Mexico facilities ahead of Tropical Storm Cindy.
The company started pulling workers from offshore facilities the afternoon of 19 June. Anadarko’s operated facilities – some of which include Heidelberg, Lucius, and Constitution – are still running as normal.
“We are continuing to monitor the weather system as it moves through the Gulf and are prepared to shut in our operated facilities if necessary to ensure the safety of our personnel and to protect the environment,” the company said in an operational update.
Tropical Storm Cindy is churning its way through the Gulf, and expected to make landfall at 7 a.m. CST Thursday along the Texas-Louisiana border, according to the National Hurricane Center, part of the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
